Survey on Infrastructure Priorities

Whittlesea BUG is seeking your views on cycling infrastructure priorities within the City of Whittlesea.
We intend to advocate on your behalf for the local Council and relevant state Government departments to deliver cycling infrastructure that best meets our community needs.

Edgars Creek Path Extension

– Much has already been constructed, more to be done!

  • Concrete shared user path on the east side from Spring St to Main St, Thomastown. Time Frame is short term and governing body is Whittlesea Council.

  • Concrete shared user path from Mahoney’s Rd to Western Ring Rd, Thomastown. Links Western Ring Rd to Thomastown precinct. Time Frame is medium term and governing body is Whittlesea Council and VicRoads.

  • Concrete shared user path between Mahoney’s Rd and Cooper St, Epping . Time Frame is long term and governing body is Whittlesea Council.

Yan Yean Pipe Track

  • Concrete shared user path between Western Ring Rd and McKimmies Rd. Time Frame is short term .

  • Concrete shared user path between McKimmies Rd and Centenary Drive.  Links Western Ring Rd to Stables Shopping Centre, Plenty Valley Shopping Centre, and South Morang Station, and South Morang. Time Frame is medium term and governing body is Melbourne Water and whittlesea council.
  • Concrete shared user path between Mahoney’s Rd and Cooper St, Epping . Time Frame is long term and governing body is whittlesea council.

Successful Infrastructure Campaigns

Dalton Road Link

Concrete shared user path along Dalton Rd between M80 Ring Road and Cheddar Rd shared user paths. Successfully linked Western Ring Rd and Cheddar Rd shared user paths allowing communting to and/or Multi-Modal

Darebin Creek Path Upgrade & Extension

Concrete shared user path from the Western Ring Rd to Epping North Links Epping North to Darebin Creek Trail and CBD.

Whittlesea Public Garden to Merri Creek Path (Hume)

Whittlesea BUG successfully lobbied for the sealed concrete path connecting the Ned Kelly Bridge and Galada Tamboore Pathway with the Merri Creek Trail within the City of Hume.

Plenty Rd Shared User Path Extension

Concrete shared user path from McKimmies Rd to Bush Boulevard on Western Side of Plenty RD. Links RMIT to South Morang Rail Station and South Morang.
